How is Fortna financed?

The financing of Fortna rests on three main pillars: course fees, facility rentals, and, importantly, donations from both large and small contributors.

Course fees are set within certain limits, allowing each participant to contribute according to their means and discretion. This approach ensures that price does not prevent anyone from attending an event and fosters a solidarity-based community for each event. This concept has been in place for two years, and we are pleased to see that mutual support among participants is thriving.

Hiring our facilities not only provides a source of revenue but also helps build valuable partnerships. We have long-term collaborations with organizations in the field of palliative care, and our spaces are used for psychotherapeutic trainings and educational courses by various organizations involved in helping professions.

Donations from both small and large contributors account for roughly one-fourth of Fortna’s annual budget. These donations allow us to operate as an open house, maintain regular opening hours, partially cover energy and maintenance costs, and host events with free or symbolic entrance fees, such as regular meditations, public lectures, and cultural events. Essential investments in our facilities and technology are made possible by several major donors and partners.
